Registering the Paper Size, Type, or Weight

After loading the paper in Tray 1, Tray 2, or the MP tray, you must register the loaded paper in the printer.

This information needs to be set from the printer's operator panel.

The paper sizes for Tray 1, Tray 2 (optional), and MP tray are set to [A4] by factory default. To print on paper of a size other than A4, you must change the paper size setting on the user menu by following the procedure below.

The setting procedure for printing on B5 paper from Tray 1 (setting [TRAY1 PAPERSIZE] to [B5]) is explained below.

  1. Press or to display [MENUS], and then press (OK).

  2. Display [TRAY CONFIG], and then press (OK).

  3. Display [TRAY1 CONFIG], and then press (OK).

  4. Display [PAPERSIZE], and then press (OK).

  5. Press or to display [B5].

  6. Press (OK) to add [*] to the right end of the set value.

  7. Press or to display [MEDIATYPE], and then press (OK).

  8. Press or to display [PLAIN].

  9. Press (OK) to add [*] to the right end of the set value.

  10. Press (ONLINE) to switch to [READY TO PRINT].

    Note

    • The paper size can be set from the Web page.

    • The "Tray 1 Media Weight" setting can also be set in [Weight] with the printer driver. Settings made with the printer driver are given priority.

    Memo

    A menu where you can set paper is automatically displayed on the operator panel in the following cases.

    • Paper is loaded in the MP tray

    • Tray 1 is pulled out

    • Tray 2 is pulled out or Tray 2 runs out of paper
