Changing the Administrator Password

It is recommended to change the administrator password to protect your security. Write the new password down and keep it safe.

This chapter describes how to change the administrator password from the operator panel of the printer.

To change the password from a computer, refer to "Changing the Administrator Password" in "Using the Web page of the Printer".

  1. Press or to display [ADMIN SETUP], and then press (OK).

  2. Press or to enter the administrator password.

    The factory default password is "aaaaaa".

  3. Press or to display [CHANGE PASSWORD], and then press (OK).

  4. Press or to enter a new password.

  5. When [VERIFY PASSWORD] is displayed, press or to enter the new password again.

  6. Press (OK).
