Cleaning the LED Head

When white streaks appear on prints, images are not printed, or characters are blurred, clean the LED head. A dirty LED head can also result in paper jams.

Note

  • Do not use solvents such as methanol and paint thinner, because such chemicals can damage the LED head.

  • Do not expose the image drum unit to direct sunlight or strong light (approximately 1,500 lux or more). Even under room lighting, do not leave the image drum for 5 minutes or more.

  1. Turn the printer off by pressing and holding the power button.

  2. Press the [OPEN] button.

  3. Open the top cover.

    Burns may result.

    Do not touch the fuser unit part, because it is very hot.

  4. With a soft tissue paper or soft cloth, lightly wipe the whole LED head.

  5. Close the top cover.
