Setting Google Cloud Print

To use Google Cloud Print, a Google account is required. This section describes how to register the printer in Google Cloud Print by using a Google account.

If you already have an account, there is no need to create a new account. Proceed to step 3.

Memo

  • To enter the [Google Cloud Print] menu, the administrator password is required.

  • Although this manual describes the procedure for setting the server from the operator panel, it is recommended to set the server from the Web page of the printer if you can operate from a computer.

    To check from the Web page, select [Admin Setup] > [General Network Settings] > [TCP/IP] in "Using the Web page of the Printer".

  1. Access the Google Web site from a computer, smartphone, or other mobile device.

  2. Create a Google account by following the on-screen instructions.

  3. Check that the printer's IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address are set correctly.

  4. Press or on the operator panel to display [Google Cloud Print], and then press (OK).

  5. Press or to display [SETTINGS OF Google Cloud Print], and then press (OK).

  6. Press or to display [DNS PRIMARY], and then press (OK).

  7. Check the [DNS PRIMARY] setting value.

    Since [0.0.0.0] indicates that the value is not set correctly, set the IP address that suits your environment.

    If the secondary DNS server is also used, display [DNS SECONDARY] in step 7, and then set the IP address.

    If the proxy server is used, display [PROXY] in step 7, and then proceed to step 9.

    If the proxy server is not used, proceed to step 17.

  8. Press or to display [ENABLE], and then press (OK).

  9. Press or to display [PROXY SERVER], and then press (OK).

  10. Enter a server name.

  11. Press or to display [PROXY PORT NO.], and then press (OK).

  12. Enter the proxy server port number.

  13. Press or to display [PROXY USER ID], and then press (OK).

  14. Enter the proxy user ID.

  15. Press or to display [PROXY PASSWORD], and then press (OK).

  16. Enter the proxy password.

    Memo

    For the setting values, contact your network administrator.

  17. Press (BACK) to return to the [Google Cloud Print] menu.

  18. Select the printer to register in Cloud from the printers that are listed on the screen of the computer, and then click [Register to Google Cloud Print].

  19. When a message is displayed to prompt you to check the registration on the operator panel, select [OK].

  20. When the URL for authentication is displayed on the screen of the computer, click the URL.

    Note

    • There is a time restriction for registration (authentication) processing (approximately 10 minutes).

    • Proceed to step 26 within the time restriction to complete the registration.

    • If you cannot complete within the time restriction and an error message is displayed, return to step 19, and then register again.

  21. When the Google account login screen is displayed, enter the Google account information, and then click [Sign in].

  22. When the registration screen is displayed, click [Finish printer registration].

  23. Wait until the [Finish printer registration] message is displayed.

  24. When the registration content and completion message are displayed on the operator panel of the printer, check the message by scrolling the screen.

  25. Press (OK) on the operator panel.

    This completes registration.
