Cannot print

Cause

The printer is turned off.

Switching the Printer Online

The cable is disconnected.

Connect the cable.

There may be a problem with a cable.

Replace it with a spare cable, if available.

The output port of the printer driver is incorrect.

Specify the output port that the printer cable is connected to.

The printer icon indicates [Offline] on Windows.

Check that the printer is not offline.

1. Right-click the printer icon, and then click [See what's printing].

2. Open the [Printer] menu, clear the [Use Printer Offline] check box.

A PostScript error is displayed on the computer screen.

Check by performing a test print.

  • If a test print can be performed correctly

    The computer's free memory space may be insufficient. Remove the cause of memory shortage.

  • If a test print can not be performed correctly

    Resolve any problems with the printer or printer driver.

Checking Operations by Performing a Test Print

If an error occurs due to the settings of application software, check the settings by referring to the instruction manual of the relevant application software.

If the print settings for the target file are wrong, change them, and then print again.

To print error details for checking, check the following procedure by using the PS printer driver.

1. Click [Print] on the [File] menu.

2. Click [Preference].

3. Click [Advanced] on the [Layout] tab.

4. Select [Yes] after selecting [PostScript Options] > [Send PostScript Error Handler].

Cannot print (network connection)

A LAN cable was connected after the printer was turned on.

Turn off the printer, connect a LAN cable, and then turn the printer on.
